Does a corner desk have to go in a corner?

Accepted Answer

No. A 90° corner workstation often sits against two walls, but it works just as well as a freestanding L-shape in open plan, especially in pairs or groups of four. 120° workstations are designed to stand in the open as clusters, and AgileMotion+ offers a ready-made 3-person 120° cluster. A desk with a return adds the extra worktop to a straight desk instead.

What's the difference between an L-shaped desk and a desk with a return?

An L-shaped corner workstation is a single 90° desk, W1800 × 1800 mm across our ranges, on a frame designed around the corner. A desk with a return is a straight desk with a separate, narrower worktop joined at a right angle, such as a W1800 mm desk with a W900 or W1200 mm return. Returns suit cellular offices; corner workstations make the most of open plan.

Can I get a standing corner desk?

Yes. The Klass and AgileMotion+ 90° corner workstations are electric sit-stand, lifting from 620 to 1270 mm and 635 to 1290 mm respectively, including the worktop. AgileMotion+ also comes as a 120° workstation, a 3-person 120° cluster and a 4-person 90° cluster, in rectangle or round leg frames, and carries a 15-year warranty.

What sizes do corner desks come in?

90° corner workstations are W1800 × 1800 mm with 600 or 750 mm deep worktops. 120° workstations have W1200 × 1200 mm wings, also 600 or 750 mm deep. Desks with a return run from W1500 to W1800 mm with W900 or W1200 mm returns, depending on the range. Each product page lists every size and finish with its price.

Are fixed-height corner desks commercial grade?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Axis, Anvil and Agile Fixed corner desks are rated to 160 kg and Plantation to 120 kg, all with a 10-year warranty and a 715 mm worktop height. Axis and Anvil are GECA certified and Plantation uses FSC-certified solid oak legs. They cost less than electric corner desks when your team doesn't need to change height.
