National Retailer — IT Department Fit-Out
Retail / Corporate — Sydney, NSW | Specialist IT workspace with integrated power & cable management
The Project
IT department furniture fit-out for one of Australia’s largest ASX-listed retail groups — a company operating 300+ stores across 8 countries, generating over $6 billion in annual revenue, and employing thousands of people.
The IT department supporting an operation of this scale requires specialist workspace infrastructure. This wasn’t a standard office fit-out — it was a high-density technology environment where power delivery, cable management, and workspace layout had to support the technical infrastructure behind one of Australia’s biggest retail operations.
The Challenge
IT environments have different requirements to standard corporate offices. Higher power density per workstation, more complex cable management, dual and triple monitor setups, server proximity, and the need for a clean, organised workspace that allows for rapid equipment changes and upgrades.
The workspace design had to balance functional density with accessibility — technicians and engineers need to be able to access, modify, and maintain their setups without disrupting adjacent workstations. Every cable run, every power point, every monitor arm had to be planned and integrated rather than added as an afterthought.
Our Approach
The project was managed with a focus on the specialist power and cable management infrastructure. Integrated solutions were specified and installed to support the high-density technical environment, with clean cable routing that maintains both functionality and aesthetics.
Coordination with the client’s IT team was essential — they understand their workspace requirements better than anyone, and the furniture solution had to support their operational needs rather than impose a standard office template on a non-standard environment.
The Outcome
A functional, clean, and professional IT department environment that supports the technical infrastructure behind a major national retail operation. The workspace is designed to accommodate the equipment density, power requirements, and rapid-change needs of a large-scale technology team.
