The Project

A full commercial furniture fit-out of the national headquarters for Australia’s largest menswear specialist retailer — a company operating 550+ stores across Australia and New Zealand under six household-name fashion brands, generating billions in annual revenue.

The scope covered 280+ electric height-adjustable workstations across the open-plan headquarters at Rosebery in Sydney’s inner south, delivered through a national, FSC-accredited commercial fit-out company.

The Challenge

This was a high-density, high-volume workstation project that demanded precision at scale. Over 280 workstations — a mix of back-to-back clusters and single configurations — had to be installed, wired, and commissioned across the headquarters floor plate, with full soft wiring infrastructure, boardroom tables, storage units, and accessories integrated throughout.

The fit-out company managing the build programme set strict timelines for the furniture installation window. The workstation delivery and installation had to be sequenced to align with the broader construction programme — arriving after flooring and services were complete, but before the client’s teams moved in.

Multiple variations were managed across the project lifecycle, with the scope evolving from the original 108 back-to-back workstations through to 76 single workstations and a further 90 additional workstations — bringing the total to over 280 installed positions.

Our Approach

The project was managed through detailed reconciliation tracking — every variation, every addition, every change order documented and reconciled against the original contract. When the scope grows by more than 150% during a project, you need a system that tracks every change without losing sight of the baseline.

Installation was coordinated in phases to minimise disruption to the broader construction programme, with each phase documented through site inspection reports and handover checklists.

The Outcome

280+ workstations delivered, installed, and commissioned on time within a compressed installation window — a project that started at 108 positions and grew to over 280 without a single missed deadline. The reconciliation process ensured every variation was documented, approved, and delivered.
